Instagram launched Stories in August 2016, and the feature spread like a fire in the digital world. As of November 2017, Instagram Stories crossed 300 million daily users. Instagram Stories section worked tremendously and still hitting the market with its amazing features.
Instagram Stories offer regular users and social marketers a great opportunity to reach a higher number of people by taking its advantages – Stories is the part of one of the fastest-growing social networks.
Instagram has reported that Stories have encouraged users to use and stay on the platform for a longer period of time and visit the platform more often. As per influencers’ records and survey, users under 25 spend more than 32 minutes per day on Instagram, while those in the older age spend more than 24 minutes a day on Instagram.
Thanks to Instagram for introducing the Stories section which has made it more convenient for marketers and creators to advertise their creativity-previously it was a bit a difficult to share or reshare posts from Instagram’s Feed to Stories, but Instagram has introduced some advanced features through which users can complete the task in just a few taps.
Most of the brands and influencers readily take full advantage of Instagram Stories to drive engagement to their latest posts and news feed. The update is a welcome improvement to the process of taking a screenshot of a post and adding it manually to the Stories. The latest feature could also enable brands to promote their posts in the Stories so that people who have missed the post in their news feed will get to know about it.

Open the Instagram app from the list of apps on your device- it would be the pink colored icon with a white camera icon on it. Tap on the app, doing so will open the Instagram News Feed directly.
If you are not already logged in, log in to your account with the associated email address/username/ phone number to the account and your account’s password. (Ensure to enter the correct credentials).
Look for the post which you want to share in your Stories. Tap on the “paper plane” icon (represented with an arrow) located beside comment icon at the bottom of the post.
Once you clicked on the “paper plane” icon, a list of followers will appear on your screen. Above the followers, you will see multiple options including “Add to Story,” “Reply,” “WhatsApp,” “Share to”. You can choose the option which is convenient for you. But here, we will tap on the “Add to Story” option to proceed.
Once you select “Add to Story” section, the post which you have chosen to share in your story will open with multiple options (eg. download button, stickers, close friends, and filters). If you want to add some creativity to your post, you can select the options among them and can explore other styles.
When you are ready to share your post to the Stories section, tap on the “Send to” button located at the bottom right corner of the page.
After clicking on the “Send to” option, your post will be shared on the Stories section.
When you tap the “Send to” option, you will see a new page showing the “Share” option. Tap the “Share” option. In the next step, you will see the “Done” tab, tap on it and that’s all. You are done.
Either you are a social marketer or a common user on social networking sites, there are always some rules and regulations that need to understand so that directly or indirectly you do not breach these websites’ policies.
While sharing others’ content on social media, it is important to take permission from the person who has shared the original post. Re-using someone else’s content is not allowed as the original posts has its own copyright under the legal considerations.
Many social sharing sites like Facebook and Twitter allow users to avoid copyright as they share the original post with attribution. But it is always a best practice to ask permission before reusing someone’s content- as the feature of directly sharing content is new on Instagram and many users will likely be happy to see their content shared. But that should not discourage you from asking for their permission first.
