The network is flourished with millions of videos around the world and has thousands of opportunities for its users. A platform is an open place where every single user can show his talent and creations through a medium of videos.

But as the channel give thousands of options to its users, most of the creators and advertisers make illegal use of its freedom. With ample of content like video tutorials, entertainment shows, and versatile content get uploaded under the roof, but at the same time, many contents on YouTube breaches the platform’s policies and guidelines.

However, YouTube has mentioned its rules that need to be followed while uploading content on the channel in the guideline section, but still there are people who do not understand such instructions and make the content as per their convenience.

Many channels on YouTube violates its community standards, which not only harm the company’s presentation but also make it difficult for innocent users to access the channel. There are billions of users on YouTube, among which most of the users are teenagers and youngsters who don’t have about the bad and good things on the channel.

Report An Inappropriate YouTube Channel:

1. Open YouTube:

Open YouTube on your preferred web browser. If you are logged into your Gmail account, then it would directly open your YouTube account. But in case you are not logged in to your Gmail account then you will be required to enter the credentials to open YouTube.

Make sure you have entered correct login credentials before clicking on the sign-in button.

2. Search For The Channel:

Once you opened your YouTube’s dashboard, you need to select the search bar located at the top of the page and type channel name whom you want to report.

Ensure that you have entered the correct channel name before pressing the “Enter” button.

3. Click The Channel:

When you searched the channel which you want to report, you will find a list of channels below the search bar, here simply drag down the options and select the channel.

You will see a heading of your search channel that has an option to subscribe or subscribed button located at the right corner of the channel name.

Note: In case, if you don’t remember the channel’s name, go to the search box and type the video name posted by the channel. Click the video, and once the video gets opened,  you will find the channel name below the video.

4. Click The About Tab:

Once you opened the channel’s page, you will see everything related to a channel like playlists, community, about, etc.  Here you need to go on the “About” tab located at the right corner of the channel’s page. You will see a drop-down menu which will appear below the “About” tab.

5. Click the “Flag” Icon:

Now, you need to scroll down the page and select the flag icon located below the stats header on the right side of the page. You will see an expanded menu below the flag icon.

6. Click Report User:

Once you clicked on the flag icon, a drop-down menu will appear, click on the “Report user” located at the bottom of the drop-down menu.

7. Select A Reason For Reporting The Channel:

If you find any video content violated the YouTube guidelines or terms and conditions, then select the reason why you are reporting the video content and describe the genuine reason for the reporting the channel.

8. Click Report:

Once you select the reason for reporting the channel, click on the “Report” button located at the bottom-right side of the pop-up window.

When you report a video, it will be reviewed by the YouTube staff within 24 hours to determine whether the channel violates YouTube’s terms and conditions. If the channel repeatedly violates the community guidelines, and many users reported for the same video content, it can lead to account termination.

9. Fill The Form:

YouTube encourages its users for free speech and defends everyone to express his point of view, but YouTube doesn’t allow its user for hate speech which affects the particular group, religion, gender, age, etc.

Here, YouTube gives you the opportunity to add your reason for reporting the channel. Here you will find various options below the hate speech heading. Select the appropriate reason from the given option.

Once you select the reason, you will get a URL box located at the bottom of the screen. Here, you need to enter the channel’s URL of the user you want to report in the URL box.

10. Click Continue To Complete The Report:

Once you filled the appropriate reason for the report, it will go under the review process by a YouTube staff member. If the staff member found an issue related to video content is serious, and the owner of the channel repeatedly broken YouTube’s community guideline, then YouTube will discontinue the channel.

Note: You cannot report a YouTube channel through a mobile browser or mobile application.

Reporting a channel on YouTube if it is serving inappropriate content to the viewers and breaking the terms and conditions of the network is necessary. Taking a quick action shows your genuine presence on the network. Moreover, you don’t have to worry about your name and identity protection when you report a channel, as YouTube does not open your identity to the person who’s channel you have reported.
