The structure for Android and iOS remains slightly different, but the app’s functionality is almost the same for both the operating system.
Open the Facebook app on your phone device. It is a blue app with a white f.
Sign up with your phone number or email address and enter your password in the required field. Click on the login button to sign in to your account.
Tap on the “Hamburger” icon represented with the three vertical lines located on the top-right corner of your phone.
Note: “On iOS, the hamburger icon is located on the bottom right side of the screen.”
Tap on “Settings and privacy” tab from the drop-down menu. You will find the option at the bottom of the list above the “Log out” tab.
Now, tap on the “settings” option from the list that appears on your screen.
From the “Security” category, click on “Security and login” option to go forward with the process.
Now, tap on the “Change password” option from the login section.
Finally, you will see blank fields asking for your previous password and the new password. Fill in all the fields correctly and click on the blue colored “Save changes” option to set up your new password successfully.

On your feed’s page, click on the drop-down icon located on the extreme right corner of your screen.

Once you click on the “Forget password,” you will be navigated to a Facebook’s password reset site.
On the Facebook’s password reset site, you will see a text box at the top of the page. Here you need to provide your email address or phone number through which you have logged into your account.
Tap on the find your account option located below the text option.
Here, you need to select a recovery method. Tap one of the account recovery options located at the top of the page. Once you are done with it, it will show you two options that are:
Send code via email: Facebook will send a reset code to the email associated with your Facebook account.
Send code via SMS: Facebook will send a text code to your registered phone number associated with your Facebook account.
In the next step, you need to tap on the “Continue” option located below the recovery methods.
This process will vary as it completely depends on the method you have chosen to reset Facebook’s password.
Email: Open your email box and look for the six-digit code you have received from Facebook.
SMS: Open your phone’s message and check the six-digit code you have received from Facebook.
Now, tap “Enter your six-digit code”, and type the code you have received from Facebook into the blank field.
Once you type the six-digit code into the empty field, you will see a “Continue” button below the code. Tap on the “Continue” button. Once you tap on the button, you will be navigated to the new password creation page.
Enter your new password in the blank field appears near the top of the page.
Tapping the “Continue” button will reset your password and change it with the new one. Now you can log in to your Facebook account with the new password.
Enter www.Facebook.com in your web browser and click enter to visit Facebook’s login page.
Now, click on the forgotten account option located just below the password field. Doing this will take you to the “Find your account” page.
Click on the blank text field present in the middle of the page. Enter your associated email address or phone number.
After entering your email address in the text field, click on the search option. The option is located below the text field.
You can change your reset option from the list of options mentioned below:
Now, click on the “continue” button to receive the code on your email address or phone number. If you have selected the “Use my Google account” then” login”window of your Google account will open automatically.
Here, the process will vary depending on the type of reset option you have chosen.
Email: Open your email inbox and look for the email you have received from Facebook. Note the six-digit code in the subject line.
SMS: Here, you need to check your phone’s message- you would have received a text from a five or six-digit phone number. Note the six-digit code in the blank text.
Google Account: Here, you just need to enter your email address and password.
Type the six-digit code that you have received in the “Enter Code” field appeared on the screen. Doing this will take you to the password reset page.
Note: Skip the steps if you have used your Google account.
In this page, you will see a “New password” text field at the top of the page. Enter your new password- this will be the password you will use to log into Facebook on all of your devices from now.
Once you click the “Continue” option, your new password would be saved. You can log in to your Facebook app and Facebook website with the new password.
