On the security and login page, click on the “Edit” button from the right side of the “Change password” option.

8. Change Your Password And Click On “Save changes” Option:

Now, you can see blank fields asking for your current and the new password. Fill in the required fields correctly and click on the “Save changes” option. Your password will be changed successfully.

Reset Facebook Password:

On Mobile:

1. Open Facebook:

Open the Facebook app on your phone. It is the blue icon with the white f.

2. Tap Forget Password:

Once you click on the “Forget password,” you will be navigated to a Facebook’s password reset site.

3. Enter Your Email Address Or Phone Number:

On the Facebook’s password reset site, you will see a text box at the top of the page. Here you need to provide your email address or phone number through which you have logged into your account.

  • If you have never used your phone number to login Facebook, then you have to use your email address.
  • If you don’t know the email address and don’t have the phone number, tap on the “Search by your name” tab and type your full name as it appears on Facebook.

5. Select A Recovery Method:

Here, you need to select a recovery method. Tap one of the account recovery options located at the top of the page. Once you are done with it, it will show you two options that are:

Send code via email: Facebook will send a reset code to the email associated with your Facebook account.

Send code via SMS: Facebook will send a text code to your registered phone number associated with your Facebook account.

6. Tap Continue For Next Options:

In the next step, you need to tap on the “Continue” option located below the recovery methods.

7. Retrieve your Facebook Account:

This process will vary as it completely depends on the method you have chosen to reset Facebook’s password.

Email: Open your email box and look for the six-digit code you have received from Facebook.

SMS: Open your phone’s message and check the six-digit code you have received from Facebook.

8. Enter The Code:

Now, tap “Enter your six-digit code”, and type the code you have received from Facebook into the blank field.

9. Tap Continue:

Once you type the six-digit code into the empty field, you will see a “Continue” button below the code. Tap on the “Continue” button. Once you tap on the button, you will be navigated to the new password creation page. 

10. Enter a New Password:

Enter your new password in the blank field appears near the top of the page.

Tapping the “Continue” button will reset your password and change it with the new one. Now you can log in to your Facebook account with the new password.

Now, click on the forgotten account option located just below the password field. Doing this will take you to the “Find your account” page.

Click on the blank text field present in the middle of the page. Enter your associated email address or phone number.

4. Click On The “Search” Button:

 After entering your email address in the text field, click on the search option. The option is located below the text field.

5. Select An Option To Reset Your Account:

You can change your reset option from the list of options mentioned below:

  • Send code via mail: Choose this option if you want to receive the code on your associated email address.
  • Send code via SMS: Choose this option if you want to receive the reset code on your phone number (only if associated to your account).
  • Use my Google account: Doing this takes you to the login page of your Google account. Here you can log in with your email address and password to reset your account.

6. Click On “Continue” Option:

Now, click on the “continue” button to receive the code on your email address or phone number. If you have selected the “Use my Google account” then” login”window of your Google account will open automatically.

7. Retrieve Code:

Here, the process will vary depending on the type of reset option you have chosen.

Email: Open your email inbox and look for the email you have received from Facebook. Note the six-digit code in the subject line.

SMS: Here, you need to check your phone’s message- you would have received a text from a five or six-digit phone number. Note the six-digit code in the blank text.

Google Account: Here, you just need to enter your email address and password.

8. Enter The Code:

Type the six-digit code that you have received in the “Enter Code” field appeared on the screen. Doing this will take you to the password reset page.

9. Enter A New Password:

In this page, you will see a “New password” text field at the top of the page. Enter your new password- this will be the password you will use to log into Facebook on all of your devices from now.

10. Click Continue:

Once you click the “Continue” option, your new password would be saved. You can log in to your Facebook app and Facebook website with the new password.
